Portable Potter's Wheel That Centers 25 Pounds of Clay But Weighs Only 26 Lbs.
"an actual potters wheel"
Review excerpt:
I would never have considered it except I saw it in action over the weekend. A fellow potter was doing a demo on it and I fell in love. He sat it on top of a bucket and went to town. (no, he didn't use the legs) He has used his for a couple of years now and wouldn't part with it - I offered to buy it from him .
In general, I like kick wheels, not electric wheels. But this one is different. It can go REALLY slow and quite fast. The speed is controlled by a little knob - not a foot petal which gives you a lot more control - set it and it stays at that speed. No wet clay colapsing from a suddenly speeding wheel caused by an accidental nudge of the foot as you change positions. It is just the right size - full sized wheel head (11 inches) and weight - 26 pounds. It uses regular bats (it also comes with the weird square one).
I wouldn't recomend it for production potting - throwing 20 pound pots, but...
